Orlando's Super Silly Socks

Orlando loved his socks more than anything. He had a special drawer just for them. But one morning, he opened the drawer and gasped. His favorite socks were gone! " - Where did they all go?" Orlando wondered. He knew he had to find them.
Orlando searched under his bed, in his toy box, and even asked his mom. " - Have you seen my socks?" he asked. But they were nowhere to be found. Orlando felt very worried and sad. " - I must find them," he said determinedly.
Orlando decided to check the laundry room. But the washing machine was empty too. " - This is strange," he thought. Then, he remembered his dog Buddy loved playing with socks. " - Maybe Buddy took them!" he exclaimed.
Orlando ran to the backyard where Buddy liked to play. He called out to Buddy, " - Did you take my socks?" Buddy just wagged his tail and barked happily. Orlando looked around but didn't find any socks. He felt even more puzzled.
Orlando decided to ask his neighbor, Mr. Jenkins, if he had seen any socks. " - Mr. Jenkins, have you seen my socks?" he asked. But Mr. Jenkins shook his head. " - I'm sorry, Orlando. I haven't seen them," he replied kindly.
Orlando sat on his porch feeling defeated. He had searched everywhere he could think of. " - Maybe my socks are lost forever," he sighed sadly. Just then, his sister Mia came outside. " - Why are you so sad, Orlando?" she asked.
Orlando explained everything to Mia. " - Don't worry," Mia said, " - We'll find them together!" Her words made Orlando feel better. " - Okay, let's try one more time," he agreed. They decided to search the house again.
After searching all day, Orlando felt like giving up. " - Maybe we won't find them," he said to Mia. " - Let's take a break," Mia suggested. They sat down and Orlando felt tears in his eyes. " - I miss my socks," he said softly.
Suddenly, Mia had an idea. " - Have you checked your backpack?" she asked. Orlando's eyes lit up. " - I forgot about that!" he exclaimed. They rushed to his room and found the backpack under his bed.
Orlando opened his backpack and burst into laughter. All his favorite socks were inside! " - I must have put them here for show-and-tell!" he remembered. Mia giggled, " - You're so silly, Orlando!" They both laughed happily.
