Pupper's Halloween Dilemma
Pupper, a fun-loving pup in Barkland, faces a big problem: he can't decide on a Halloween costume. With the holiday just a week away, Pupper feels the pressure mounting. Can he overcome his obstacles and find the perfect costume in time?
Pupper sniffed the crisp fall air as the leaves crunched under his paws on his way home from school. Halloween was just a week away, but Pupper still didn’t have a costume. Mama Pupper had warned him not to wait until the last minute. Now, Pupper wasn’t sure what to do. Big troubles, indeed.
As he walked home, Pupper passed Grandmapup and Grandpup sitting on their porch. They called him over. - What’s got your tail down? Grandpup asked. - Halloween, Pupper sighed. - But you love Halloween! Grandmapup said.
That night at dinner, Big Daddy Pup noticed Pupper's ears were laid back. - What’s wrong, son? he asked. - Everyone at school has their Halloween costume picked except me, Pupper said. Mama Pupper added, - You’ve always loved dressing up for Halloween, so we know you’ll come up with something special. - And it better be soon if you want my help, she added.
Pupper thought and thought but couldn’t come up with any ideas. His little sister suggested he be a princess. - I’m a boy, he reminded her. - That doesn’t matter, she said confidently. But Pupper shuddered at the idea of wearing an itchy princess costume.
The next day, Pupper was lying on the porch when his neighbor and best friend, Boo, stopped by. - Hey Pupper, want to play ball? Boo asked. - Maybe you’ll get inspired! Pupper’s tail wagged just a little as they played ball. The cool, autumn air was perfect for running back and forth.
After a while, Boo had to go. Before he left, he scratched Pupper’s ears and said, - You’re such a good boy! Suddenly, Pupper’s ears perked up, and his tail started wagging. He knew exactly what he wanted to be for Halloween! Pupper raced inside to share his idea with his family.
