Ragnar the Friendly Viking Vol. 5

Charity Pixar style

In this installment, Ragnar, a 13-year-old Viking living in Oslo, faces a challenging problem that tests his charitable spirit. When a neighboring village falls into hardship, Ragnar's journey to help them is filled with obstacles, failures, and moments of doubt. Will he find a way to bring aid and embody the spirit of charity?

In the bustling city of Oslo, Ragnar was known as the friendliest Viking. One day, he heard troubling news: a neighboring village was suffering from a terrible drought. Ragnar felt a deep urge to help them, but he didn't know how. He shared the news with his father while helping him sharpen his axe. His father nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation.

- We must do something, Father, Ragnar said. - Indeed, but it won't be easy, his father replied. Ragnar decided to gather food and water to bring to the village. He packed his supplies and set off on his journey. But as he left, dark clouds began to gather in the sky, hinting at the challenges ahead.

Ragnar's first obstacle came quickly. The path to the village was blocked by a fallen tree. - I need to find another way, Ragnar thought. He tried to move the tree but it was too heavy. He had to take a longer, more dangerous path through the forest.

As Ragnar navigated the forest, he encountered a pack of wolves. They growled, blocking his way. - Stay calm, Ragnar told himself. He slowly backed away, trying to find another route. The wolves eventually lost interest, but Ragnar was now behind schedule.

Ragnar reached a wide, rushing river that was too deep to cross. - How will I get across? he wondered. He searched for a bridge but found none. Determined, he built a small raft using fallen branches and vines. It was risky, but he had no other choice.

The raft journey was perilous. Midway across the river, the current grew stronger. - Hold on tight! Ragnar told himself, gripping the raft. Just as he thought he would be swept away, he spotted a calm spot and paddled towards it. He made it across, but his supplies were soaked.

Exhausted, Ragnar reached the village only to find it worse than he imagined. - We're so glad you're here, a villager said. But Ragnar's supplies were ruined, and he felt defeated. - How can I help now? he asked, feeling hopeless. The villagers looked at him with expectant eyes.

Ragnar sat down, overwhelmed by the situation. - Maybe I should go back, he thought. - No, I can't give up now, he argued with himself. He looked around, seeing the village's dire need. - There must be another way, he whispered, refusing to let despair win.

Suddenly, an old woman approached Ragnar. - I've heard of your kindness, young Viking, she said. - There's a hidden well nearby, but it's covered by rocks. Inspired, Ragnar gathered the villagers. - Let's uncover the well together! he exclaimed. Hope sparked in their eyes.

With teamwork and determination, Ragnar and the villagers uncovered the hidden well. Fresh water flowed, bringing life back to the village. - We did it! Ragnar cheered. The villagers rejoiced, grateful for Ragnar's help. - Thank you, Ragnar, they said. - Always happy to help, Ragnar replied, smiling.
