Rivey’s Christmas Eve Surprise

It was Christmas Eve, and little Rivey was very excited. She wanted to stay up and meet Santa Claus. Rivey whispered to her teddy bear, " - Tonight, we're going to see Santa!" But there was a problem. Santa was very sneaky, and he always came when children were asleep.
Rivey decided to wait by the fireplace. " - I will stay here all night," Rivey told her teddy. But soon, her eyes became heavy. " - Oh no, I'm getting sleepy," she said, fighting to keep her eyes open. Her mom came by and said, " - Rivey, it's bedtime, my dear."
Rivey tried to stay awake by playing with her toys. " - Maybe if I play, I won't fall asleep," she thought. But her toys didn't make her less tired. Suddenly, she heard a noise outside. " - What was that?" she wondered, peeking out the window. It was just a snowman falling over.
Feeling tired and a little sad, Rivey lay down on the couch. " - I don't think I can stay up," she sighed to her teddy. She thought about giving up. " - Maybe Santa is too magical for me to see," she said quietly. Her eyes started to close.
Just then, Rivey's mom came in with a surprise. " - Rivey, would you like to help me prepare some cookies for Santa?" she asked. Rivey's eyes lit up. " - Yes!" she exclaimed. As they baked, her mom said, " - Giving is what makes Christmas special."
Rivey felt happy as she placed cookies and milk for Santa. " - I can't wait for Santa to see these!" she giggled. That night, she fell asleep with a big smile. In the morning, she found a note from Santa thanking her for the cookies. " - I did it!" she cheered.
