Ruben was excited to be a big brother. He lived in sunny Australia with his family. One day, his parents announced they were going to Bali to welcome his new baby sister, Coby. But Ruben had one big fear: "What if Coby doesn't like me?" he wondered. He was worried about how things might change with a new baby around.
As they arrived in Bali, Ruben felt a little nervous. He saw the crowded streets full of new faces and heard unfamiliar sounds. "I don't know if I can handle this," Ruben thought. His mom noticed and said, - It's okay to feel unsure, Ruben. But you'll see, Coby will love you. Ruben nodded, but he still wasn't sure.
When they reached their new home, Ruben wanted to play with Coby. But Coby was too little to play with him. Ruben felt disappointed. - I thought we'd play together, Ruben said. His dad explained, - Babies need time to grow, Ruben. Ruben sighed, feeling like he couldn't do anything right.
Ruben sat alone in his room, feeling a bit sad. He thought about giving up on trying to be a good big brother. - Maybe Coby doesn't need me, he whispered to himself. Just then, he heard his mom's voice, - Ruben, can you help me with Coby's bath? Ruben hesitated, unsure if he could help at all.
As Ruben helped with Coby's bath, something changed. Coby giggled and splashed water everywhere. Ruben laughed, feeling a bit more confident. - You're funny, Coby! he said. His mom smiled, - See? Coby already loves having you around. Ruben realized that even small things mattered a lot.
From then on, Ruben felt like a real big brother. He learned how to sing to Coby, and Coby loved it. They spent time together every day. - I guess being a big brother isn't so hard after all, Ruben said. He understood that patience and love were the key. And so, Ruben and Coby became the best of friends.
