One sunny day, a special letter came to the sheriff's office! It was a message from the infamous outlaw, Black Bart, warning that he was planning to take control of the town.
Jimmy's heart went thump-thump as he read the letter. He felt the excitement of the folks in Rattlesnake Ridge who were looking up to him. He just had to stop Black Bart from taking over his favorite town! He thought it would be fun to invite his friends and create an exciting plan together.
Jimmy's first challenge was to discover where Black Bart was hiding! He and his buddies galloped their ponies out into the sandy desert. The sun was blazing, and they were almost out of water. They needed to discover a way to keep moving forward!
I don't think we can go much further, Jake said, wiping sweat from his forehead. We have to keep moving, Jimmy said cheerfully. The town is counting on us! They kept going, but the desert felt like it went on forever.
