Sean was excited as he and his best friend Cassie arrived at the African zoo. As they walked in, they read a sign that said, 'Unlock the wisdom of the animals.' Sean was puzzled. What could that mean? They decided to find out but had no idea where to start.
They first went to see the zebras. Sean noticed that the zebras were all standing together in a tight group. He tried to explain this to Cassie, but she seemed more interested in the monkeys nearby. Sean felt a bit frustrated because he wanted to understand the zebras' behavior.
Next, they visited the monkeys. The monkeys were swinging from branches and making lots of noise. Sean tried to get closer to hear what they were chattering about, but the noise was too overwhelming. Sean felt like he was failing to understand the wisdom the animals were supposed to share.
Sean felt discouraged. Every animal they visited seemed just like another animal. He began to think that the sign about animal wisdom was just a joke. He sat down on a bench, feeling defeated. Cassie sat next to him, worried about her friend's sudden sadness.
Just then, an old zookeeper approached them. 'You seem troubled, young man,' he said. Sean explained his frustration. The zookeeper smiled and said, 'The wisdom of the animals is in their way of life. Patience and observation will reveal it to you.' This gave Sean a new sense of determination.
With renewed energy, Sean and Cassie returned to the animals. This time, Sean observed patiently. He noticed how zebras protect each other, how monkeys communicate, and how camels store water. He realized that every animal had something wise to teach. He smiled at Cassie and said, 'I get it now.'
