In Columbus, GA, Evanna and Merrick face a big challenge at the playground. They must learn to stay close and stay safe despite distractions and obstacles. Will they find the wisdom to solve their problem?

Evanna and her brother Merrick loved playing at the playground in Columbus, GA. One sunny day, they noticed a new, tall slide. Evanna wanted to slide down, but Merrick was scared. They needed to stay close and safe, but how could they enjoy the playground and stay safe

Evanna decided to go down the slide first. Merrick watched from the bottom, feeling nervous. Evanna slid down and ran back to Merrick, but she tripped and fell. Merrick rushed to help her up. They both realized that staying close and safe was harder than they thought.

The next day, they went to the grocery store with Evanna's mom. Evanna wanted to explore the aisles, but her mom reminded her to stay close. Merrick saw a display of colorful balloons and ran towards it. Evanna followed, but they got lost in the store. Evanna felt scared and didn't know what to do.

- What should we do? Evanna asked, holding Merrick's hand tightly. - I don't know, Merrick replied, looking around worriedly. They wandered the aisles, hoping to find Evanna's mom. But the store seemed bigger and more confusing than ever. Evanna felt like giving up and sitting down to cry.

Then, they heard a familiar voice. - Evanna, Merrick, where are you? Evanna's mom called out. They ran towards the sound and found her. - We were so scared, Evanna said, hugging her mom. - Remember to stay close and pay attention, her mom advised. Evanna nodded, realizing the importance of staying safe.

That night, Evanna and Merrick sat in bed, reading a story together. - I learned something important today, Evanna said. - Me too, Merrick agreed. They promised to always stay close and look out for each other. With the warmth of their friendship and the wisdom they gained, they felt safe and happy.
