Joe decided to check the sandbox. He stuck to the edge and sifted through the sand with his hands. But the ball wasn't there either. - Where could it be? Joe wondered aloud. He felt a bit discouraged.
Joe's friend, Emma, approached him. - Maybe it's in the bushes, she suggested. Joe nodded and headed towards the bushes. He stuck to a branch and peered inside. But there was still no ball.

Joe went back to the tallest slide. He imagined the ball rolling down and bouncing away. - It would go towards the fence! Joe shouted. He ran to the fence and there it was, stuck behind the gate.
