Ruth awoke to the gentle voice of her mommy, "Rise and shine, Ruth." She stretched and whispered, "Thank you, dear God, for a brand new day!" As she made her bed, she felt grateful for her hands, feet, and the roof over her head. But today, Ruth faced a new challenge; she needed to find a way to help her family when they needed wisdom. "How will I ever find wisdom?" she wondered.
As Ruth prepared for school, she heard her parents talking about a problem on the farm. "The chickens have stopped laying eggs," her mommy said worriedly. Ruth wanted to help, but she didn't know how. "If I only knew how to solve this," she thought, feeling a bit discouraged. "Can I really be wise enough to help out?" she wondered as she grabbed her lunch.
At school, Ruth felt the weight of her family's worries. Her teacher, noticing Ruth's troubled expression, asked, "Is everything okay, Ruth?" Ruth explained the situation, but all her friends could suggest were silly ideas that didn't help. "I wish I could be wise like the grown-ups," Ruth sighed. The day seemed long, and Ruth felt further from the solution.
After a long day, Ruth sat under her favorite tree, feeling defeated. "Maybe I should just give up," she thought sadly. She remembered the stories her grandma told about finding wisdom in unexpected places, but right now, it seemed impossible. "I don't know if I can do it," she murmured. She closed her eyes, hoping for inspiration.
Just then, a gentle breeze rustled the leaves, and Ruth opened her eyes to see a small bird building a nest. Suddenly, she realized, "The bird finds wisdom in nature!" She ran inside, excited to share her idea with her family. "Maybe the chickens need a new place to lay their eggs," she suggested. Her parents looked at each other and smiled, "That's a wise thought, Ruth!"
The whole family worked together to create cozy new nesting boxes for the chickens. "I can't believe it worked!" Ruth exclaimed as they saw the chickens beginning to lay eggs again. Her mommy hugged her tightly, "You found wisdom, Ruth, by being thankful and observant." Ruth beamed with pride, thankful for everything she learned. "Thank you, God, for wisdom," she whispered.
