Amelia and Ellie were playing in their backyard when they heard a strange noise. A little koala named Koko had wandered into their garden, looking lost and scared. Amelia, always ready for fun, decided they had to help Koko find his way back home. But Koko's home was far away at the Melbourne Zoo! The girls set off towards the Melbourne Zoo, but soon they came across a busy street. They didn't know how to cross it with Koko safely. Amelia held Koko close and looked around. She noticed a crossing guard nearby. Ellie was scared but determined.
The crossing guard helped them cross the street, but soon they found themselves in a crowded market. There were so many people, and Koko was getting nervous. Amelia tried to calm him down, but it was hard with all the noise. Ellie suggested they find a quieter path, but the market seemed endless.
After wandering for a while, Amelia felt discouraged. She sat down on a bench and sighed. Koko looked at her with big, sad eyes. Ellie sat beside her friend. - Maybe we should just go home, Amelia said. - But Koko needs us, Ellie replied. We can't give up now.
Just then, an old man with a kind smile approached them. He was a zookeeper! He recognized Koko and offered to help them. - Follow me, the zookeeper said. I know the way to the zoo. Amelia and Ellie felt hopeful again as they followed him.
