Kylie picked up the wallet and looked at Charley. - What should we do with it? Charley asked. - We have to find who it belongs to, Kylie replied.
The girls opened the wallet and saw an ID card. It belonged to someone named Mr. Thompson. - Let's go find Mr. Thompson, Kylie said excitedly. - But where do we start? Charley wondered.
Their first stop was the park's lost and found. The lady there was kind but couldn't help. She suggested they try the nearby library.
At the library, the librarian checked her records but found no information. - Maybe we should give up, Charley said, looking sad. - No, we can't! Kylie insisted.
Next, they visited a nearby café. The barista recognized Mr. Thompson but didn't know where he lived. - He comes here often, but I don't know his address, she said.
Feeling tired, they sat on a bench to rest. - Maybe Mr. Thompson will come looking for his wallet, Charley suggested. - We need a better plan, Kylie sighed.
As the sun began to set, Kylie felt like giving up. - We've tried everything, she said. - Let's go home, Charley agreed sadly.
Just then, an old man approached them. - Are you girls okay? he asked kindly. - We're looking for Mr. Thompson, Kylie explained. - That's me! the man exclaimed.
