The Ant and the Grasshopper
In a sunny field, a carefree Grasshopper hops and sings, while a diligent Ant works hard to gather food for the winter. As the seasons change, the Grasshopper faces a harsh reality and learns a valuable lesson about wisdom and preparation.
On a bright summer's day, the Grasshopper hopped around, singing joyfully. The Ant, however, was busily carrying an ear of corn. The Grasshopper laughed, " - Why work so hard? Come play with me!" The Ant shook his head. " - Winter is coming, and I must gather food," he replied.
The Grasshopper watched the Ant work tirelessly. " - Why worry about winter?" he asked, lazily stretching on a blade of grass. The Ant continued, " - You should prepare while you can." The Grasshopper just shrugged and lay back down, convinced there was no need.
As days passed, the Grasshopper noticed the Ant's food pile growing. " - That's a lot of work for some corn," he joked. The Ant paused, " - You might regret not preparing." But the Grasshopper was too busy enjoying the summer to listen.
When autumn winds began to blow, the Grasshopper felt a chill. " - Maybe I should gather some food," he thought. But the fields were empty now. " - Where will I find food now?" he wondered, feeling a twinge of worry.
The Grasshopper tried searching for food, but everywhere he looked was bare. " - What will I eat now?" he fretted. Meanwhile, the Ant's home was warm and stocked with food. " - I should have listened," the Grasshopper realized.
Cold and hungry, the Grasshopper felt hopeless. " - I should have prepared," he lamented aloud. He watched as the Ant and his friends shared their food. " - How foolish I was," the Grasshopper admitted.
Just when things seemed bleakest, the Grasshopper remembered something. " - Maybe the Ant will help," he thought. He approached the Ant, feeling ashamed. " - Can you spare some food?" he asked quietly. The Ant smiled warmly. " - There's always room for one more," he replied.
The Grasshopper joined the Ant inside the cosy anthill. - Thank you, he said, grateful and humble. As they shared the food, the Ant spoke, - Next summer, let's prepare together. The Grasshopper nodded eagerly, understanding the wisdom in the Ant's words, - I will, he promised, learning his valuable lesson.
