The Boy Who Finds Things

Honesty Digital art style

Craig, a bright and honest 10-year-old boy from Glasgow, finds a mysterious phone-like device by a stream that can locate anything. However, the phone's power leads him into a series of moral dilemmas and challenging obstacles that test his honesty and integrity.

Craig loved exploring the little stream near his home in Lenzie. One sunny afternoon, he stumbled upon a shiny object half-buried in the mud. It looked like a smartphone! Craig picked it up and noticed it had an button called 'Finder'.

Curious, Craig pressed the button. The screen lit up, asking him what he wanted to find. He typed in 'lost toy car' as a test. To his amazement, an arrow appeared, pointing towards the bushes.

Craig followed the arrow and, hidden under some leaves, found his lost toy car. 'Wow, this is amazing!' he thought. But then he wondered, 'What if I use this to find other lost things?'

The next day, Craig heard his neighbour, Mrs. McGregor, talking about her missing cat, Whiskers. 'Maybe I can help,' Craig said, showing her the phone. 'Can it really find Whiskers?' she asked, hopeful.

Craig typed 'Whiskers' into the device. The arrow pointed towards the park. 'Let's go!' Craig said. Mrs. McGregor and Craig hurried to the park, following the arrow.

They searched the park thoroughly but couldn’t find Whiskers. 'Maybe the app isn’t perfect,' Craig said. Mrs. McGregor sighed, 'It was worth a try.' Craig felt disappointed.

That evening, Craig’s best friend, Jamie, came over. 'I lost my favorite hat,' Jamie said. Craig showed him the phone and explained how it worked. 'Let’s find it!' Jamie exclaimed.

They typed 'Jamie’s hat' into the app. The arrow pointed towards the school playground. 'I think I left it there during recess,' Jamie said. They ran to the playground.

At the playground, they checked every corner but couldn’t find the hat. 'Maybe someone took it,' Jamie said sadly. Craig felt bad for his friend.

Craig returned home, feeling down. 'I wanted to help, but I keep failing,' he thought. He put the phone aside and decided to give up using it. 'Maybe it’s not as special as I thought,' he mumbled.

The next morning, Craig’s Grandpa visited. 'Why the long face, Craig?' he asked. Craig explained everything. 'Sometimes, finding things isn’t just about the tool but about perseverance and honesty,' Grandpa said wisely.

Inspired by Grandpa’s words, Craig decided to try again. He picked up the phone and typed 'Whiskers'. The arrow pointed to the park again. 'I won’t give up this time,' he thought.

Craig searched the park thoroughly once more. This time, he found a small hole under a bench. 'Whiskers must be here!' he called. Sure enough, out came Whiskers, purring happily.

Craig rushed to Mrs. McGregor’s house. 'I found Whiskers!' he shouted. Mrs. McGregor hugged Whiskers and thanked Craig. 'You didn’t give up; that’s what matters,' she said.

Encouraged by his success, Craig tried finding Jamie’s hat again. This time, he noticed it stuck in a tree branch near the playground. 'Jamie, I found it!' Craig yelled.

Jamie hugged Craig. 'You’re the best!' he said. Craig realized honesty and persistence were the real keys to solving problems. He smiled, feeling proud and happy.
