They decided to search the garden next. " - What if it rolled outside?" Lily suggested. As they wandered through the flowers, they heard a rustling noise. " - What was that?" Max asked nervously. Lily's heart raced as they moved closer to the sound, hoping it was her ball. Instead, it was just a squirrel running away.
After hours of searching, Lily felt defeated. " - Maybe I'll never find it," she sighed. Max noticed her sadness. " - I know how much it means to you," Max said softly. Lily sat down, thinking about giving up. The problem seemed too big for little Lily.
Then, Max had a sudden thought. " - Wait, Lily," he exclaimed, "I remember now!" Max confessed he had taken the ball to play with and accidentally left it in the attic. " - I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier," Max admitted. Lily was surprised but relieved. " - Let's go find it together!" she said, feeling hopeful again.
Together, they climbed up to the attic and found the ball behind an old trunk. Lily hugged Max. " - Thank you for being honest," she said. Max felt happy they could be honest with each other. They both realized honesty is important in friendship. With her favorite ball back, Lily felt complete again, and they played happily ever after.
