It was a cold winter day in the suburbs of Paris. Zee, a curious six-year-old, found a frozen chicken in the backyard. The chicken was stuck in a block of ice, and Zee knew it needed help. Zee wondered how the chicken got there and how to free it. This was a big problem as the chicken might be in danger.
Zee tried to chip away the ice with a small stick but it didn't work. The ice was too thick and the stick broke. Zee felt frustrated and didn't know what to do next.
Zee decided to pour warm water on the ice. But the water quickly froze in the cold weather. Zee's hands were getting cold and the chicken was still trapped.
Feeling hopeless, Zee sat down and thought about giving up. Zee didn't know how to save the chicken and felt very sad. The chicken seemed doomed to stay frozen forever.
Just then, an old neighbor named Mr. Pierre came by. He saw Zee and asked what was wrong. - I can't free the chicken, Zee said. Mr. Pierre smiled and suggested using a hairdryer. - Let's try it together, he said.
Zee and Mr. Pierre plugged in the hairdryer and aimed it at the ice. Slowly, the ice began to melt. Zee's heart filled with hope as the chicken was finally freed. - We did it! Zee cheered.
