The House Farted!

Courage Watercolor style

Milo, a timid seven-year-old, is terrified of the strange noises his old house makes. He believes there's a ghost lurking around, causing mysterious sounds. But with the help of his Grandpa, Milo discovers the courage to face his fears and learns that the sounds are just the house 'farting,' leading to a surprising and heartwarming solution.

Milo lived in an old, creaky house that made strange noises at night. He was convinced these noises were made by a ghost. Every night, he would hide under his blanket, scared of the sounds. He desperately wanted to be brave like the heroes in his comic books. Milo felt he needed to solve the mystery of the noises to feel safe.

One evening, as Milo was brushing his teeth, he heard a loud groan from the walls. He dropped his toothbrush in shock. His heart raced, and he ran to his room, slamming the door behind him. He wished he could be brave enough to face whatever was making those sounds. Milo felt stuck because he didn't know where to start.

Determined to solve the mystery, Milo decided to investigate after dinner. He tiptoed around the house, listening carefully. Suddenly, a loud thud echoed from the attic, making him jump. He wanted to ask his parents for help but feared they'd laugh at him. Milo felt more alone than ever in his quest.

Milo sat in his room, feeling defeated. He couldn't figure out where the noises were coming from, and he was too scared to go to the attic alone. He thought about giving up. Maybe he'd have to live with the ghost forever. Milo buried his face in his pillow, feeling hopeless.

Just then, Grandpa came to visit and noticed Milo's worried face. Grandpa chuckled warmly and said, " - What's wrong, Milo?" Milo explained his fear of the noises. Grandpa smiled and said, " - Ah, that's just the house farting! Old houses do that sometimes." Milo laughed, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders.

With Grandpa's reassurance, Milo felt brave enough to explore the attic. Together, they found that the noises were just the wind whistling through a loose window. Milo laughed at how scared he had been. He realized he was braver than he thought. Now, the noises didn't seem so scary after all.
