Adalade was tucked in bed, but she couldn't sleep. Strange noises were coming from the kitchen. She was curious and a little scared. What could be making those sounds in the middle of the night? Adalade decided to find out.
Adalade tiptoed to the kitchen, but the door was stuck. She pushed with all her might, but it wouldn't budge. She felt a little disheartened. - Why won't it open? she wondered. She decided to try again.
Adalade managed to open the door, but the kitchen was dark and spooky. She couldn't see what was making the noises. - I need a light, she thought. She grabbed a flashlight, but it flickered and went out. - Oh no! How will I see? she said.
Adalade felt like giving up. The kitchen was too scary and the flashlight didn't work. - Maybe I should just go back to bed, she whispered. She sat down and felt a tear roll down her cheek. It seemed like the mystery would remain unsolved.
Just then, Adalade heard a gentle voice. - Don't give up, Adalade. She looked up and saw her stuffed bunny, Mr. Fluffy, smiling at her. - Use your imagination, he said. Adalade realized she could pretend the kitchen was a friendly place. - You're right, Mr. Fluffy! Let's solve this together.
With new courage, Adalade turned on the kitchen light. She saw it was just the refrigerator making noises. - Silly fridge! she laughed. She felt proud for solving the mystery. - Thank you, Mr. Fluffy, she said. Adalade learned that wisdom comes from not giving up.
