Mikey was playing in his backyard in Houston when he found a map. The map showed the way to a 'magic pebble' that could make everyone happy. Mikey was excited and wanted to find it right away. He believed the pebble could stop his friends from arguing. Mikey packed his backpack and put on his glasses.
Mikey started his journey, but soon he found a big, muddy puddle blocking his path. He tried to jump over it, but he slipped and got all wet. Mikey's glasses were splashed with mud. - Oh no, how will I see the map now? Mikey said. He sat down and felt sad.
Mikey cleaned his glasses and continued, but a big dog started barking. The dog was friendly but wanted to play. Mikey was scared and didn't know what to do. - I can't play now, I have to find the pebble! Mikey said. He tried to sneak past the dog.
Mikey felt tired after walking for a long time. He sat on the sidewalk and thought about going home. - Maybe the pebble isn't real, Mikey sighed. The sun was setting, and he missed his home and toys. He wondered if he should give up.
A kind old man saw Mikey and smiled. - Are you lost, little one? he asked. Mikey explained about the magic pebble. The old man nodded and said, - Sometimes, magic is in our hearts, not in pebbles. Mikey realized he could make his friends happy with kindness.
Mikey rushed back home, excited with his new idea. He gathered his friends and shared stories and toys with them. - We don't need a pebble to be happy, Mikey said. His friends laughed and agreed, and they all played happily together. Mikey felt proud of his long journey.
