In a small town, five little ducklings were waddling near a big, round drainage hole. They were very curious and wanted to see what was inside. Suddenly, they slipped and fell in! The townspeople gathered around, worried about how they could help. They knew they needed to act fast to save the ducklings.
The townspeople tried to use a long stick to reach the ducklings. But the stick was too short and the ducklings were too deep. - How can we get them out? a little girl asked. The people scratched their heads, not knowing what to do next.
Then, they tried to pour water into the hole to float the ducklings up. But the water just made the ducklings quack louder in surprise. - Oh no, this isn't working! a boy exclaimed. The people started to feel even more worried.
The ducklings were still stuck and the people were running out of ideas. Some felt scared that they wouldn't be able to help. - Should we call for more help? someone suggested. But everyone was already there, trying their best.
Just as they were about to give up, an old man with a wise smile appeared. He brought a big net and said, - Let's work together to save them. Everyone felt hopeful and joined in to help. They carefully lowered the net into the hole.
