The Sloth Artist

Courage Watercolor style

In a vibrant forest, a young boy struggles to find the perfect Valentine's gift for his girlfriend. When a wizard offers him material gifts, the boy realizes they're not enough. On a quest for something more meaningful, he meets a retired sloth artist who needs convincing to help. With courage and heartfelt words, the boy embarks on a journey to create a unique gift that truly captures his feelings, leading to a surprising and heartfelt resolution.

There once was a boy sitting on a hill. His face was sour, his mind was nil. He did not know what reason to take, for he had a big decision to make.

“What am I gonna get her for Valentine’s Day?!” He says. His hands started to shake, his face turned red. He curled into a ball, And heard a whooshing noise near. Then suddenly, a magic wizard appeared!

Despite the wizard's generous offer, Alex felt a deep sense of despair. " - These gifts aren't enough," he thought to himself. Just then, the wizard asked, " - How do you feel when you're with her?" Alex paused and said, " - Like two sloths cuddled up, soaking in the love of the world." The wizard smiled and nodded, " - Then let us find a sloth artist who can paint your feelings."

They soon found the sloth artist, who was nestled high in a tree, refusing to come down. " - I'm tired of clientele and meeting demands," the sloth grumbled. Alex felt his heart sink. " - Please, I don't want just a painting," Alex pleaded. " - I want something that comes from the heart, something true and simple." The sloth hesitated, but Alex's words sparked something inside him.

After much thought, the sloth finally agreed to help Alex. " - You have shown courage, young one," the sloth said, slowly descending from the tree. Alex watched in awe as the sloth began to paint, each stroke filled with emotion. " - Art should be creation, not expectation," Alex echoed, feeling hopeful. Together, they worked until the painting was complete, though Alex still hadn't seen it.

When the painting was finished, the sloth handed it to Alex with a gentle smile. " - Though this did not cost gold, it carries effort from the heart," the sloth said. Alex, overwhelmed with gratitude, promised to share the sloth's message. " - Thank you," Alex whispered, knowing this gift was truly special. He hurried back, eager to see his girlfriend's face when she received the heartfelt painting.
