The Summer I Turned Pretty

Tolerance

Belly's summer in Massachusetts becomes unforgettable as she navigates love, jealousy, and friendship. With her brother Steven's graduation, her feelings for Jeremiah and Conrad, and Taylor's jealousy, Belly learns the importance of tolerance.

Belly couldn't wait for the summer. Every year, she looked forward to spending time in Massachusetts with her friends and family. This year felt different, though. There was a tension in the air, and Belly couldn't quite put her finger on it. As she unpacked her bags, she wondered what was in store for her this time.

Belly met up with Jeremiah and Conrad at the beach. They chatted about their plans for the summer. But something was off. Belly noticed Jeremiah and Conrad giving each other strange looks. She decided to ignore it for now, hoping it was nothing serious.

Later that evening, Steven announced his graduation speech. Natalie, who had been hanging out with them, looked especially proud. Belly couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy as she watched Natalie and Steven together. She wondered if her feelings for Jeremiah and Conrad would ever be that clear.

- Steven, that speech was amazing! Natalie exclaimed. - Thanks, Nat. It means a lot coming from you, Steven replied. Belly watched them, feeling a mix of happiness and envy. She wished her feelings for Jeremiah and Conrad were as straightforward as Steven and Natalie's relationship.

The next day, Belly and Taylor went shopping. Taylor kept talking about how she felt left out. Belly tried to reassure her, but Taylor's jealousy was hard to ignore. - Why does everyone like Natalie so much? Taylor asked. - She's just... nice, Belly replied, unsure how to make Taylor feel better.

Jeremiah and Belly spent the afternoon walking through the town. - Do you ever feel like things are changing too fast? Belly asked. - All the time, Jeremiah replied. They both knew their feelings were growing, but neither of them wanted to ruin their friendship. The uncertainty was almost too much to bear.

Conrad joined Belly on the porch that evening. - You look troubled, he said. - It's just... everything, Belly replied. Conrad nodded, understanding her without needing more words. They sat in silence, both contemplating the changes happening around them.

Steven and Natalie were spending more time together. It was obvious to everyone that they were falling in love. - I'm so happy for you, Steven, Belly said. - Thanks, sis. I hope you find your happiness too, Steven replied. Belly smiled, feeling his support but still unsure about her own heart.

Taylor's jealousy reached a peak when she saw Natalie and Steven holding hands. - Why can't that be me? she muttered. Belly tried to console her. - You'll find someone, Tay. Just be patient. Taylor sighed, knowing Belly was right but still feeling left out.

Susanna, Jeremiah and Conrad's mom, noticed Belly's distress. - You seem troubled, dear. Is everything alright? Susanna asked. - I'm just confused about my feelings, Belly admitted. - Love is never simple, Susanna said kindly. Belly felt a bit better, knowing she wasn't alone in her confusion.

Belly sat alone by the lake, feeling overwhelmed. She considered giving up on her feelings for both Jeremiah and Conrad. - Maybe it's just not meant to be, she thought. The thought of losing both of them was too much to bear. She felt like she was at a breaking point.

Laurel, Belly's mom, found her by the lake. - What's wrong, sweetheart? she asked. - I just don't know what to do, Belly replied. Laurel hugged her tightly. - Follow your heart, and everything will fall into place. Belly felt a bit of hope returning.

Belly had an epiphany while talking to Jeremiah. - I think we need to be honest with each other, she said. - I agree, Jeremiah replied. They both realized that their friendship was strong enough to handle the truth. It was a breakthrough moment for Belly.

Belly decided to talk to Conrad next. - I need to know how you feel, she said. - I've always cared about you, Conrad admitted. Belly realized that both boys had genuine feelings for her. She felt a sense of relief knowing the truth.

In the end, Belly chose Jeremiah. - I want to be with you, she said. - I've always wanted that, Jeremiah replied. They both felt a sense of peace and excitement about their future together. The summer had turned out to be more than she ever expected.

Steven's graduation speech was a success. - I dedicate this to Natalie, who has shown me what true love is, Steven said. Natalie blushed, feeling incredibly happy. Belly realized that love and tolerance had made this summer unforgettable.
