Later, Jacqueline whispered to Ruby that Alice said her mom’s doughnuts were bad. Ruby felt hurt and angry at Alice. The next time she saw Alice, Ruby glared at her. - Why would you say something so mean? Ruby asked. Alice was confused and didn’t understand why Ruby was mad.
Ruby stopped sharing her doughnuts with Alice and told her other friends Alice said bad things about her mom’s doughnuts. Soon, all the girls stopped playing with Alice.
