Cjay loved to play in the forest near his home in Sweden. One sunny day, he found an old, magical tree that glowed softly. Curious, he climbed the tree, but a branch broke off, and the tree stopped glowing. The village elder told him that the tree's magic was vital for the village's happiness. Cjay felt terrible and knew he had to fix it, but he was scared to tell anyone what happened.
Cjay decided to find a way to fix the tree without telling anyone. He thought maybe watering it would help, so he brought a bucket of water. He poured the water on the roots, but nothing happened. The tree remained dull and lifeless. Cjay felt even more worried. He didn't know what to do next.
Cjay tried singing to the tree, thinking maybe it needed to feel happy again. He sang his favorite songs, but the tree didn't respond. Then, he tried tying the broken branch back with a rope. The branch fell off again, and Cjay felt like crying. He was running out of ideas and felt more hopeless with each failure.
Cjay sat down by the tree and felt like giving up. He thought about how much trouble he might get into if he told the truth. He imagined the village being sad forever because of him. Just as he was about to leave, he heard a gentle voice. It was the village elder.
- Why are you so sad, Cjay? the elder asked. - I broke the tree, and I don't know how to fix it, Cjay confessed. The elder smiled kindly. - The tree's magic is based on honesty. Only by telling the truth can its magic be restored. Cjay felt a weight lift off his shoulders. He thanked the elder and promised to tell everyone what happened.
