The Ugly Turkey
Puddle, a curious and kind blue chick, embarks on a journey to discover his true identity after feeling like an outcast among the turkeys at the zoo. Along the way, he faces challenges and rejection until a wise owl helps him see his true self.
Puddle was a little blue chick who lived with Ms. Merky and the Gobbler Clan at the city zoo. But Puddle was different from the other turkey chicks. He was blue and didn't quite fit in. The other turkey children would laugh and call him names. Puddle felt very sad.
Puddle wanted to be friends, but the other chicks didn't let him join their games. - Why can't I play too? Puddle asked. - Because you're just an ugly turkey, they teased. Puddle didn't understand why being blue made him different. He felt lonely and left out.
Determined to find out where he belonged, Puddle decided to explore the zoo. He visited the flamingos first. - Can I stand on one leg like you? he asked. But when he tried, he fell over. The flamingos laughed. - Nope, you're not one of us, they said.
Feeling discouraged, Puddle continued his search. He asked the ostriches if he was like them. - Can you run fast? the ostriches challenged. Puddle tried his best, but he was left far behind. - You're just an ugly turkey, they said, leaving Puddle feeling more lost than ever.
Just as he was about to give up, a wise owl swooped down. - Puddle, it's not about what you are, but who you are, the owl said. - Who am I? Puddle wondered. The owl suggested he look at his reflection. For the first time, Puddle saw himself clearly in a puddle.
Puddle finally realized he wasn't an ugly turkey at all. - I'm a beautiful peacock! he exclaimed, spreading his colorful feathers in delight. The other animals were amazed and wanted to be his friend. Puddle was happy, knowing he was special just as he was.
