Tumble, Bumble, Fun "Believe In Yourself"

Courage

Miasha, a resilient and determined 7-year-old gymnast, faces a series of daunting challenges at the gymnastics trials in London. With the support of her parents, team and coach, can she find the courage and believe in herself to overcome her fears and shine on the big stage? Written By Majesty Thomas

Miasha loved gymnastics. She wore her pink and purple sparkly leotard with pride. Her "Bumble, Tumble, Fun" Club leotard was one of her prized possessions. Today was the big gymnastics trials in Manchester, London. But Miasha felt a flutter of nerves in her stomach. She was worried she wouldn’t be able to perform her best.

Miasha’s coach, Jewel, noticed her worry. Jewel said, You’ve got this, Miasha. Just believe in yourself! Miasha nodded, but she wasn’t sure. What if she tripped and everyone laughed?

The first event was the balance beam. Miasha took a deep breath and started her routine. But halfway through, she wobbled and fell off the beam. Oh no! she cried. The crowd gasped, and Miasha’s cheeks turned red.

Jewel, her Coach rushed to her side. It's okay, Miasha. Everyone makes mistakes. Miasha felt tears sting her eyes. I wanted to do it perfectly, she whispered. Keep trying, Jewel encouraged. You’re stronger than you think.

Next was the floor routine. Miasha started strong but tripped on her final tumbling pass. She landed on her knees, feeling defeated. I can’t do this, she thought. The crowd clapped, but she felt their pity.

Miasha’s teammate, Sparkle, came over. You did great! she said. Miasha shook her head. I messed up again. We all have bad days. The important thing is to keep going. Believe in yourself said Sparkle!

The next event was the uneven bars. Miasha’s hands were shaking as she gripped the bar. She swung up but missed her grip and fell to the mat below. Ouch! she cried. Her confidence was crumbling. She just wanted to go back home and crawl underneath her sheets and hide.

The crowd murmured, and Miasha felt her heart sink. I’m just not good enough, she thought. Jewel and Sparkle ran over. You’re doing your best, and that’s what matters, Sparkle said. Believe in yourself, added Jewel. Try again and don't ever give up.

The final event was the vault. Miasha’s heart pounded as she approached the runway. She sprinted, jumped, but stumbled on her landing. She fell forward, double stepping and forgetting to stretch toward the judges after her routine. Not again, she groaned. Once again, I messed up she sighed in defeat.

Miasha sat on the sidelines, folding her arms. I can’t do anything right today, she said. Maybe I should just give up. Jewel knelt beside her. Sometimes it’s hard, but you can’t quit now. You’ve come so far. You are doing so well despite your mishaps.

Miasha was ready to quit. She felt like she had failed at everything. But then she remembered her parents and Coach Jewel’s words.... You’re stronger than you think. "Believe" Miasha took a deep breath, feeling a spark of hope and a wave of courage and determination.

Jewel gave her a reassuring pat, "Believe in yourself, Miasha, you can do this. " Miasha nodded. I’ll try one more time. She stood up, determination in her eyes. She wouldn’t give up now. She prepared for her second round on the vault.

Miasha approached the vault again. "Let's Go Miasha, Let's Go! her team chanted with encouragement. She took a deep breath and sprinted. This time, she soared through the air and stuck the landing perfectly, remembering to stretch toward the judges. They gave her their nod of approval. The crowd erupted in cheers. It was a brilliant ending to her routine.

Miasha’s heart swelled with pride. She had done it! Jewel and Sparkle hugged her tightly. Her parents jumped for joy yelling to the top of their lungs. You were amazing! Sparkle exclaimed. Giving her teammate a high five. See, you just needed to believe in yourself, said Jewel. Miasha thought to herself, "Yes, I did it! " Once you believe in yourself you can do anything.
