Welcome to Renbrook, Faye!

Courage Watercolor style

Faye, an 8-year-old girl with dirty blonde hair and a curious spirit, starts a new school, Renbrook. She faces the challenge of riding the school bus and being the new student in her class, which tests her courage. Will she overcome her fears and find her place in her new school?

Faye had just moved to West Hartford and today was her first day at Renbrook School. She was excited but also very nervous. She wondered if she would make any friends. 'What if no one likes me?' she thought. The thought of being alone made her feel scared.

In her first class, Faye tried to introduce herself to a group of kids. They were talking about a school project. 'Can I join you?' Faye asked. But one of the kids, Sam, said, - We already have enough people. Sorry. Faye felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment.

At lunchtime, Faye decided to sit by herself. She saw a girl named Emma sitting alone too. Faye gathered her courage and walked over. - Can I sit here? she asked. Emma nodded and smiled, but they both sat quietly, feeling a bit awkward. Faye wondered if she had made a mistake.

By the end of the day, Faye felt like giving up. She hadn’t made any friends and felt very lonely. - Maybe I’ll never fit in, she thought sadly. She wanted to cry, but held back her tears. Faye didn’t know what to do next.

The next day, their teacher, Mr. Thompson, noticed Faye was feeling down. - Faye, would you like to help me with a class project? he asked. She nodded. As they worked together, Mr. Thompson said, - Sometimes it just takes a bit of courage to try again. Faye felt a spark of hope.

Inspired by Mr. Thompson’s words, Faye decided to try once more. She saw Emma alone again and went to sit with her. - Want to work on the project together? Faye asked. Emma's face lit up. - Yes, I’d love that! she replied. Faye realized that courage can lead to wonderful things.
