Adam is a curious boy that likes to explore everything. Can you guess what he'll do next?
Once upon a time in a cozy little cabin in the country, where chickens roamed and horses ran in the pasture, where cows moo'd and goats jumped around, there lived a curious little two-year-old named Adam. Adam like to get into everything and he was always running and climbing and opening and closing and jumping and tumbling down. Everyone called him Badam because he was such a busy little boy. He made all his grown-ups shake their heads.
Adam loved to explore the world around him. Sometimes he explored in the fridge. Sometimes he explored in the cupboards. Sometimes he explored bookcases, closets, and under beds. Sometimes he explored in the garden. Sometimes he explored in the laundry, and sometimes he explored the kitchen sink, the horse corral, or in the chicken coop. He had to see, touch, and sometimes taste, everything!
One day Adam's mommy decided to bake cookies. The moment she brought out the mixing bowl, Adam's eyes lit up like stars and he got a smile that spread across his whole face. "Help?!" said Adam. He was already climbing on the kitchen chair. Adam's mommy sighed. She knew exactly what Adam's "help" meant. As soon as his mommy turned to get the sugar Adam grabbed the flour and dumped it in the bowl. He spilled it and got some flour in his hair. "Oh, Badam, you look like a snowman!" Then he cracked the eggs, squished the butter, and ate a handful of chocolate chips. Mommy shook her head.
Adam giggled jumped off his chair. He zoomed into the living room, leaving little white footprints and a mess behind. Suddenly, he stopped right in his tracks and his eyes lit up like stars! His daddy's tool bag was on the chair! Adam got so excited he jumped up and down. "Dis?" Adam yelled as he picked up a shiny, silver wrench, spilling the tools on the floor. Before anyone could answer Adam was using it to turn the lamp on. But instead of turning the lamp on he knocked it off the table to the floor where it hit with a CRASH! "Badam, what are you doing?" asked his dad running into the room. "Fix!" Adam said. Daddy shook his head.
Adam got an idea. He walked outside. His little dog, Belle, followed at his heels, barking excitedly, wagging her tail as they walked across the porch. Adam walked over to the garden and stood in the dirt. Beside him were his mommy's flower pots. First he look at the flower, then he smelled it, then he broke it off and tasted it. Then, the most magical thing happened. He saw a BUG in the dirt! Adam shrieked. Belle barked. Adam's mommy ran outside to see what was wrong. "Badam, are you ok?" she asked. "Bug!" Adam yelled, holding the bug up. "You have flour on your face, dirt on your knees, and a bug in your hand!" his mommy said, shaking her head.
Next, Adam bit the bug! "Badam!" his mommy yelled. "Don't eat the bug!" Adam smiled. "Water", he said. He dropped the bug, walked past his mommy, and went inside to get a drink. He went straight to the kitchen and pushed a chair over to the counter. He climbed onto the chair, then onto the counter, then walked across the counter to the cupboard, opened it, and got a cup. "Me down", he said to his mommy, who lifted him down. "Nanks", he said. Adam walked to the fridge and placed his cup under the waterspout to fill his cup. Then, he took a big drink. Mommy shook her head, still thinking about the bug.
Later that night Adam took a bath that turned the water a shade of gray and left him sparkly clean. His blond hair and face didn't have flour on them anymore. His knees didn't have any dirt on them anymore. He didn't have a bug in his hand (or mouth) anymore. He did get in the tub with his clothes on, he did drink the tub water, he did dump out the shampoo, he did throw his wet toys out on the floor, and he did splash big enough to get his daddy all wet. "Oh, Badam", said his daddy while he bathed him. "Are you ready for bed?" "Yeah", Adam nodded, and he climbed out of the tub. Daddy shook his head.
Adam crawled into bed and snuggled in his covers. Belle cuddled up next to him and pushed her way under the covers so she was nice and warm. Adam took his sippy cup from his daddy and laid down. "Book", he said to his daddy. "Ok", his dad said and picked up Adam's favorite book. He began to read and Adam laid back in bed, closed his little eyes, drifted off to sleep, and dreamt about what kind of trouble he could find tomorrow. Daddy kissed his cheek. Mommy kissed his little hand. Then they both looked down at him and shook their heads in anticipation of what tomorrow would bring.
