Zack and Bruno played in the snowy forest. They found big footprints in the snow! The prints were too big for a rabbit, too small for a bear. Zack wondered who made them. Bruno was confused too.
- What are these? Zack asked. - I don't know, said Bruno. They decided to follow the footprints. The snow was cold and deep. But they were brave.
The footprints led to a frozen pond. Zack tried to walk on the ice. But it was slippery! Zack fell down and giggled. Bruno helped him up.
They continued through the forest. Suddenly, they heard a loud "Whoo!" Zack jumped. Bruno looked up at the trees. Something was watching them!
The footprints went into a cave. It was dark inside. Zack felt scared but brave. - Should we go in? asked Bruno. - Yes, whispered Zack.
Inside the cave, they saw a pile of snow. But no creature! Zack checked the prints. They were still a mystery. - Let’s keep looking, said Bruno.
The prints led to a tall tree. They looked up and saw... an owl! The owl was stuck in the tree. - Help! it cried. Zack and Bruno knew they had to help.
Zack tried to climb the tree. But he slipped again! Bruno tried too, but he was scared. - We can't do it, said Zack. They felt sad.
Then, they had an idea! They made a snow ladder. Carefully, they climbed up. The owl cheered. - Thank you, it said.
The owl was safe and happy. It showed them the stars. - These are my home, it said. Zack and Bruno learned about the sky. They smiled with joy.
