Cielle and Amir are excited to take their new puppy, Ziggy, on her first walk. But the journey brings with it new adventure with memories of a lifetime!
Chapter 1: The Exciting Surprise It was a bright Saturday morning in the suburb of Avonlea, Greencroft, Harare. The sun peeked through fluffy white clouds like a shy kitten deciding whether to join the fun. Inside a cozy little house, two children bounced with excitement. Cielle, with a head full of defiant hair that seemed to dance around her, wore her favorite pink dress with twinkling stars. Her younger brother, Amir, looked super cool in his blue T-shirt and tiny sneakers, his big brown eyes sparkling in anticipation. “Can you believe Mom and Dad got us a puppy?” Cielle shouted, jumping up and down, her hair bouncing along. “Her name is Ziggy, and she’s the cutest Jack Russell ever!”
Determined to help Ziggy, Cielle and Amir decided to lure her out with treats. Ziggy sniffed the air, but the bustling sounds of outside made her step back again. - Come on, Ziggy! It'll be fun! Cielle urged, holding her favorite snack. But Ziggy wouldn't budge, and her siblings were stumped. They sat on the porch, brainstorming how to coax Ziggy outside. - Maybe we need to show her it's safe, Amir suggested, looking hopeful.
As they ventured further into the garden, Ziggy began to whimper, pulling at her leash. A passing car honked loudly, startling her, and she darted behind Cielle. - It's okay, Ziggy, Cielle whispered soothingly, but Ziggy remained tense. Amir tried to encourage her with a toy, but nothing seemed to work. The siblings felt the pressure mounting. They couldn't let Ziggy's first walk be a failure.
