Gertie The Ghostie

Courage

Gertie, a sweet and lively ghost, loves living on a pumpkin patch. When a spooky event threatens her favorite time of year, Halloween, she must find the courage to save it. Along the way, she faces numerous challenges but learns the true meaning of bravery.

Gertie the Ghostie adored the pumpkin patch where she lived. Every autumn, families visited for fall fun, and Gertie loved making new friends. This year, however, something strange was happening. The pumpkins were disappearing overnight, and without them, Halloween would be ruined.

Gertie decided she had to find out what was happening to the pumpkins. She floated to the barn where she met her friend, Benny the Barn Owl. Together, they planned to stay up all night to catch the pumpkin thief. But staying awake was harder than they thought.

Despite their best efforts, Gertie and Benny both fell asleep. When they woke up, more pumpkins were gone. Gertie felt frustrated. She decided to ask for help from the forest animals. The squirrels said they saw a shadowy figure, but they were too scared to follow it.

- We can't do this, Benny, Gertie sighed. - I'm too scared of that shadowy figure. Benny looked at her with wise eyes. - Sometimes, courage means being scared but doing it anyway, he said. Gertie knew he was right, but she still felt unsure.

Just as Gertie was about to give up, she saw a light in the distance. It was the friendly fireflies, and they offered to help light up the pumpkin patch. - With their light, we can see the thief, Gertie exclaimed. That night, the fireflies lit up the field, revealing a mischievous raccoon stealing pumpkins.

Gertie bravely approached the raccoon. - Please stop taking the pumpkins. We need them for Halloween, she said. The raccoon apologized and explained he was just trying to feed his family. Gertie suggested they share the pumpkins instead. Everyone agreed, and Halloween was saved. Gertie realized that true courage is about finding solutions, not just facing fears.
