Jonah, a 12-year-old boy with dark brown skin and short curly hair, finds himself in a big adventure when he decides to run away from God's command to go to Nineveh. He hopped onto a ship sailing away from Nineveh, thinking he could run away from his duty.
As the ship set off on its adventure, dark clouds started to gather in the sky. The sailors were super scared, and the ship bounced around wildly in the big waves! Jonah realized that the big storm happened because he tried to escape from God. He told the sailors, I messed up. If you toss me into the water, the wild weather will calm down! With a bit of hesitation, the sailors followed Jonah's request.
As Jonah splashed into the deep, chilly waters, he felt like it was the end of his adventure. Out of nowhere, a huge fish popped up and gobbled him right up! Inside the fish's belly, Jonah felt all alone and a little bit frightened. The shadows were really big, and the smell was super yucky! Jonah was so surprised that this was happening to him!
