Stella and Riley searched the yard, checking every bush and under every flower. " - Maybe it's behind the big oak tree," Riley suggested. Stella trotted there but returned with no ball. Disappointed, Riley sighed, " - What if it's lost forever?" Stella nuzzled Riley's hand, determined to keep looking.
The duo decided to check the neighbor's yard next. But the gate was closed and locked. " - How will we get in?" Riley wondered aloud. Stella barked and pawed at the gate, but it wouldn't budge. Riley's heart sank. " - Maybe we should just go home," she said, her voice full of worry.
Feeling defeated, Riley sat on the porch steps, her chin resting on her knees. " - It's no use, Stella," she muttered. Stella lay beside her, gently nudging Riley's hand with her nose. Riley looked at the sky, wishing for a solution. " - I guess we'll have to play something else," she said sadly.
Suddenly, Riley's mom stepped outside with a smile. " - Why not use wisdom, Riley?" she suggested. Riley blinked, thinking hard. " - Maybe we can ask Mr. Brown for help," she exclaimed. Stella barked happily, as if agreeing. With newfound determination, they headed to the neighbor's house.
Mr. Brown kindly unlocked the gate, and there was the ball, nestled in a bed of daisies. " - Thank you, Mr. Brown!" Riley cheered. Stella wagged her tail, thrilled to have her toy back. They learned that sometimes, asking for help is the wisest choice. Together, they raced back to the yard, ready to play once more.
