Squeak tried to sneak back and return the button. But, oh no! Nannan Tracey and Grandad Barry were having a picnic right by the car. - How will I ever get close enough? Squeak whispered to himself. He felt his little heart thumping in his chest. It seemed impossible to get past them.
Squeak decided to wait until they finished their picnic. But then, the grandchildren came over to play. - Squeak, come play with us! they called. Squeak wanted to join them, but he still had the button. He watched them sadly, feeling stuck. The obstacle seemed bigger than before.
Feeling overwhelmed, Squeak thought about giving up. - Maybe I should just keep the button, he sighed. He sat alone, feeling worried and unsure. His heart felt heavy with the secret. Squeak wished he had never taken it.
