Twas the week before Christmas and Lola was excited. She wanted to make a special gift for her class. " - What should I make?" Lola wondered aloud. She decided on cookies, a treat everyone would love. " - I'll bake cookies for everyone!" she exclaimed. But the clock was ticking and she needed to start quickly.

Lola gathered all the ingredients she needed. " - I've got flour, sugar, and butter," she said, checking her list. But as she started mixing, she realized she forgot the eggs. " - Oh no!" Lola exclaimed in panic. Her mom reassured her, " - Don't worry, we can go get some."

With the eggs in hand, she resumed her baking. Lola sang Christmas carols as she mixed the batter. " - Jingle bells, jingle bells," she hummed happily. But then, she accidentally knocked over the bag of flour. " - Oh no, not again!" she sighed, looking at the mess. It felt like everything was going wrong.

Finally, the cookies were in the oven, and Lola felt relieved. But soon, a burning smell filled the room. " - My cookies!" she cried, rushing to open the oven. They were burnt and black. " - I can't give these to my friends," she said, feeling defeated.

Feeling discouraged, Lola sat down and thought about giving up. " - Maybe I'm just not good at baking," she said quietly. Her mom sat beside her. " - It's okay to feel upset, but don't give up," her mom encouraged. Lola wanted to make her friends happy, but it seemed impossible.

Her mom had an idea. " - Let's try baking together," she suggested with a smile. Lola nodded, feeling hopeful again. Together, they mixed a new batch of dough. " - This time, we can do it!" Lola said with determination. The kitchen was filled with laughter and joy.

The cookies were finally baked to perfection. Lola and her mom decorated them with icing and sprinkles. " - These look amazing!" Lola beamed proudly. Her mom hugged her, " - You did it, sweetie." Lola felt proud of her sweet surprise.

The next day at school, Lola shared her cookies with her classmates. " - These are the best cookies ever!" Lea said happily. Lola was overjoyed that everyone loved them. " - I'm so glad you like them," she replied, her heart full of happiness. Lola learned that perseverance and sharing bring joy.
