The Never Ending Day
Seth, a 30-year-old man who dies of lung cancer, finds himself in Heaven where he meets the Lord Jesus. Struggling with the concept of eternity and unending light, Seth embarks on a journey of wisdom and truth, learning profound lessons about life and himself.
Seth found himself standing before the pearly gates of Heaven. He had passed away from lung cancer, but now he was here, in a place where time didn't seem to exist. The light was constant, never dimming, which made it feel like one endless day. Seth felt overwhelmed by the weight of eternity. He wondered how he would ever find peace in this never-ending light.
Just then, the Lord Jesus appeared before Seth. 'Welcome, Seth,' Jesus said with a warm smile. Seth felt a sense of relief but was still troubled. 'Lord, how can I find peace in a place where the day never ends?' Seth asked. Jesus looked at him kindly and said, 'Wisdom will be your guide here, Seth.'
As they walked together through Heaven, Seth shared his struggles from his time on Earth. 'Lord, I always sought the truth, but it was hard to find,' Seth admitted. Jesus nodded, 'The truth is often hidden within the noise of the world.' Seth realized that finding truth had always been an obstacle for him. The endless light began to feel like the endless search for understanding.
Days—or what felt like days—passed by, and Seth grew weary. 'Lord, I don't think I can do this,' Seth confessed. 'I can't find wisdom in this never-ending day.' Jesus stopped and looked at him with compassion. 'Seth, wisdom is not found in a single moment but in a lifetime of moments.' Seth felt like giving up, feeling the weight of his quest bearing down on him.
One day, as they walked by a crystal-clear river, Jesus spoke. 'Seth, look at the river,' He said. 'It flows endlessly, yet each drop is part of a greater whole.' Seth stared at the river, realizing that wisdom, like the river, was a journey, not a destination. 'So, wisdom is about the journey, not just the answers?' Seth asked. Jesus smiled, 'Exactly.'
With this newfound understanding, Seth felt a weight lift off his shoulders. He realized that the endless day was a gift, an opportunity to continuously seek and grow in wisdom. 'Thank you, Lord,' Seth said with a smile, feeling a sense of peace he had never known. 'Your journey has just begun, Seth,' Jesus replied. And so, in the never-ending light, Seth found his path to wisdom.
