Your New Brother

Sally was excited and curious when her parents told her she was going to have a new brother. But soon, she felt worried. What if her brother didn't like her? Sally wondered if he would take all her toys and everyone's attention. - What if he cries all the time? Sally asked her mom. Her mom smiled and said, - We'll figure it out together.

Sally decided to make her brother a special welcome card. But every time she tried to draw, the crayons rolled away. - Oh no! Sally exclaimed, chasing the crayons. She felt frustrated and thought, - How will I ever make the card if the crayons keep running away?

Sally tried again, but then the cat jumped onto the table and spilled her juice. - Oh dear! Sally cried. Now her card was wet and sticky. - This is impossible, she mumbled, feeling tears in her eyes. Her dad came and wiped the table. - It's okay, Sally. You can try again, he assured her.

Sally felt like giving up. Nothing was working, and she was sure her brother wouldn't like her. - I can't do this, she said, slumping into her chair. Her mom kneeled beside her and said, - It's okay to feel upset, but don't forget how much you wanted to make him smile.
