Moni Makes Money

Charity Watercolor style

Moni, a curious six-year-old, dreams of buying a new doll, but her mother explains they can't afford it right now. Determined to earn the money herself, Moni sets up a lemonade stand in her small town, facing a series of challenges along the way. With each setback, Moni learns more about hard work, community, and the importance of giving back.

Moni loved her doll collection, but there was one special doll she really wanted. Her mom explained they didn't have enough money for it right now. Moni felt sad but determined. She decided to open a lemonade stand to earn money for her new doll. Moni was excited and quickly made plans for her stand. She couldn't wait to start her little business.

Moni worked hard to set up her lemonade stand. She squeezed lemons and set up her table with cups and a bright sign. But when she opened for business, no one came by. Moni felt discouraged. - Why isn't anyone stopping? she wondered aloud. She sat down, worried about her empty lemonade stand.

The next day, Moni decided to try again. She added more decorations to attract attention. But soon, dark clouds gathered, and it began to rain. Moni's lemonade stand was soaked, and no one stopped by. - Oh no, what will I do now? Moni sighed as she watched the rain pour down. She felt like her plan was ruined.

Feeling defeated, Moni thought about giving up. She sat inside, staring out the window at the rain. - Maybe I can't do it, she said to herself sadly. Her mother noticed she was upset and sat beside her. - Sometimes things don't go as planned, but we can find new ways to succeed, her mother encouraged. Moni knew she had to keep trying.

The next morning, Moni had a new idea. She decided to give free samples to attract customers. She set up her stand again, offering small cups of lemonade to people passing by. - Try some lemonade! It's delicious! Moni called out with a smile. Soon, people stopped to try her lemonade, and some bought full cups.

By the end of the week, Moni had earned enough money for her new doll. But she realized something important. - I want to help others like they helped me, she said, deciding to donate some of her earnings to charity. Her mom hugged her proudly. Moni learned that giving back felt even better than getting her doll.
