My Friend

Courage

In wartime Amsterdam, a curious 10-year-old named Sam discovers a hidden diary with a connection to Anne Frank. Through trials and obstacles, Sam learns the true meaning of courage.

In 1942 Amsterdam, Sam, a curious 10-year-old with short brown curly hair, discovered a hidden diary in his attic. The diary belonged to a girl named Anne Frank. Sam knew he had to learn more about her and why she hid. But with the war raging, it wasn't going to be easy. Sam felt a strange sense of urgency to solve this mystery.

Sam's first obstacle came when he tried to talk to his parents about the diary. They were too busy with the war effort and told him to stay out of trouble. Sam felt alone and frustrated. He knew he had to find another way to learn about Anne Frank.

Undeterred, Sam decided to visit the library. But when he got there, the librarian told him that many books were removed because of the war. Sam felt his heart sink. He wondered if he would ever uncover Anne's story. He felt like giving up but decided to keep trying.

After a few days of failed attempts and dead ends, Sam felt defeated. He sat by the canal, staring at the diary. He thought about giving up his quest. Could he ever learn the truth about Anne Frank?

Just then, an older neighbor named Mr. Janssen noticed Sam and sat beside him. Mr. Janssen recognized the diary and began to tell Sam about Anne Frank and her courage. Sam listened intently, feeling a spark of hope. Mr. Janssen's stories gave Sam the courage to keep going.

With renewed determination, Sam started sharing Anne's story with his friends. They decided to create a small exhibit in their school to honor her bravery. Sam felt proud as he saw his classmates learn about Anne and the importance of courage. He had solved the mystery and found a new friend in Anne.
