Rideshare Drivers Are People, Too!

Tolerance

This heartwarming and inspiring story celebrates all of the workers of the service industry, as they face the daily struggles of feeling invisible and unappreciated in the service industry. With the looming threat of advanced technology threatening to take away the livelihood of these hardworking people, it must be noted that many lives could be affected by such a shift. Join Lee the narrator, as he embarks on a mission to change people's perceptions and show that rideshare drivers, and all service workers, are people too.

This book is dedicated to the countless people who work service jobs every day. These jobs may not seem important in the eyes of many, but I am here to let you all know that your labor does not go unnoticed. From the rideshare drivers to the cashiers at the stores, to the janitors, our world would be even more chaotic than it is today, believe it or not. Thank you!

Lee decides to start his day by picking up his first passenger, a busy businesswoman named Karen. Karen is in a rush and barely acknowledges Lee. She spends the entire ride on her phone, not even saying 'thank you' when she leaves. Lee feels disheartened by the lack of appreciation.

Lee's next passenger is a teenager named Jake, who is headed to school. Jake gets in the car and immediately starts playing loud music through his headphones. Lee tries to start a conversation, but Jake is too engrossed in his music to respond. Lee sighs, feeling even more invisible.

After dropping off Jake, Lee's car breaks down in the middle of a busy street. He has to call a tow truck, which means he'll lose valuable working hours. Feeling frustrated, Lee wonders if anyone truly values rideshare drivers. He starts to question if his job has any meaning.

While waiting for the tow truck, Lee's phone rings. It's his friend Mike, another rideshare driver, calling to check on him. Lee shares his frustrations with Mike. - I feel like no one appreciates us, Lee says. - I know the feeling, Mike replies. But remember, we make people's lives easier every day.

The tow truck finally arrives, but the driver is grumpy and unhelpful. - Just another day in paradise, he mutters. Lee feels like he's hit rock bottom. He watches as his car is towed away, wondering if he should just give up.

Lee takes a bus home, thinking about his day. He recalls a time when a passenger thanked him for helping them during a tough time. - Maybe those moments are worth it, he thinks. But the negative experiences still weigh heavily on his mind.

The next day, Lee decides to give it one more try. His first passenger is an elderly woman named Mrs. Johnson. She smiles warmly and chats with Lee throughout the ride. - Thank you for being so kind, she says as she exits the car. Lee feels a glimmer of hope.

Encouraged by Mrs. Johnson, Lee picks up his next passenger, a young artist named Mia. Mia shares her dream of opening an art gallery and asks Lee about his job. - It must be tough sometimes, she says. - It can be, Lee replies, but it's moments like this that make it worth it.

Later, Lee picks up a father and his young son. The boy is fascinated by Lee's car and asks him countless questions. - What's the best part of your job? the boy asks. - Meeting new people every day, Lee answers with a smile. The father thanks Lee for being so patient.

But then, Lee picks up a rude passenger who complains about everything. - This car smells, the passenger gripes. - Can't you drive any faster? Lee feels his confidence slipping away again. He wonders if he can keep going.

After dropping off the rude passenger, Lee pulls over and takes a deep breath. He's on the verge of giving up. - Maybe this job isn't for me, he thinks. Just then, he receives a message from a regular passenger named Sarah.

Sarah's message says, - Lee, you always brighten my day. Thank you for being so kind and reliable. Lee feels a surge of determination. He realizes that for every negative experience, there are positive ones that matter even more.

Inspired by Sarah's message, Lee decides to keep driving. He picks up a young man named Alex, who is nervous about a job interview. Lee shares some encouraging words. - You've got this, he says. Alex thanks him, saying, - You don't know how much this means to me.

Lee continues his day with renewed purpose. He picks up a variety of passengers, each with their own stories. He listens, supports, and learns from each one. Lee realizes that his job is more than just driving; it's about making connections and helping people.

By the end of the day, Lee feels a sense of accomplishment. He understands the importance of tolerance and appreciation for all service workers. - We all play a part in making the world a better place, he thinks. Lee drives home with a smile, knowing he made a difference.
